As another great year goes by, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the remarkable milestones the Ventile team reached in 2024. While it’s easy to get caught up in chasing the next big thing and pushing toward the future, we believe it is important to take a moment to pause and celebrate another year.
These achievements would not have been possible without the support of our amazing partners. Together, we are building a more sustainable and innovative industry, one that will benefit generations to come.
Two years of the EBDA partnership
We round off the second year of our joint venture with the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA) by supporting Ramadan Kamel Farm in Behira and Salsol Farm in Dommiat as they made progress converting to biodynamic farming.
Last year, the farms reported 47,728 kg of high-quality organic cotton harvested in the season and registered improved soil health and increased biodiversity in their productions. This was made possible through the use of a dedicated mentor providing training on biological control strategies, plant disease management, and additional fertilization training designed to maintain the ecological balance whilst ensuring sustainable growth.
Nurturing the next generation of designer
We partnered with Ravensbourne University London and the Swiss Textile School in a bid to inspire up-and-coming designers and help students make informed fabric decisions that promote quality and longevity.
Through a series of workshops, we deliver industry insights to raise awareness of the impact fabric choices have on fashion sustainability, supporting with hands-on experience and insights into sustainable fabric innovation – from raw material sourcing to advanced textile engineering.
Pushing boundaries in outdoor apparel
Ventile and partner Brynje of Norway worked with brand ambassador and expedition leader Inge Solheim to launch the digital campaign ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’. Inspired by Solheim’s first-hand account, the campaign aimed to encourage adventurers to reconnect with nature, looking at the benefits of moving outdoors for better mental health.
In 2024, we also worked alongside the team at Mover for Plastic Free July, inspiring customers to choose natural textiles and garments, and bringing solutions to plastic pollution. The campaign highlighted the benefits that natural fibres can bring to sportswear apparel, focusing on performance, durability, breathability and comfort.
Expanding horizons
To bolster our presence in Asia, we successfully registered our trademark ‘Ventile’ in Hong Kong as well as re-affirming our partnership with South Korean-based Grimm International. This market has shown particular interest in Ventile Twill 225 ORG, a 100% organic cotton fabric finished with a PFC-free DWR.
Where innovation meets opportunities
Every year, we join the leading trade fairs to share and learn more about the latest innovations in the market. In 2024, we attended Premiere Vision in Paris and Milano Unica, and exhibited at Performance Days in Munich, TechTextil in Frankfurt, and Future Fabrics Expo in London.
Did you know that last year we also received the coveted award of 100% Jury Like at Performance Days? Our recycled fabrics Ventile ECO 430 RCO and Ventile ECO 400 RCO were exhibited at the Functional Fabric Fair’s Footwear Forum, and the judges recognised them for their benefits as ‘footwear uppers’.
With more possibilities ahead, let’s continue our journey to shape a better future.
