As sustainability continues to take centre stage in the textile industry, at Ventile we actively champion eco-friendly innovation. With the Ventile ECO Recycled range, we are able to reduce our environmental impact by offering our customers alternative fabric choices.
Fast fashion is out of fashion, and we are leading the change
Fast fashion has contributed to excessive textile waste and environmental damage. As a response to the growing need to repurpose textile waste, in 2019 we introduced our first line of 100% recycled cotton fabric, addressing the current environmental challenges without compromising on quality.
The 400g/m2 fabric was designed to achieve the best possible balance of performance, comfort, and sustainability in a bid to reduce overall textile waste and to create a durable and environmentally friendly resource for designers and fashion brands looking to create bags, coats and jackets.
Since then, we have expanded the line by adding four more options that go from 230g/m2 to 430 g/m2 with the opportunity to work on custom-made colour solutions to meet our clients’ requirements.
The process behind Ventile ECO Recycled
To produce our recycled fabrics, we use pre-consumer cotton waste sourced from the apparel, home furnishing, and bed linen industries. Committed to sustainability, all processes are GRS and Oeko-Tex certified and adhere to ISO9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
The recycled cotton is collected from over 100 GRS-certified sources across three countries, primarily in Turkey. Following this, through a mechanical recycling process, the cotton is repurposed without bleaching, regenerating, or chemicals.
Fibres are then spun into yarn and woven into premium-quality fabric. Finally, the fabric undergoes a PFC-free finishing process, ensuring a water-repellent, eco-friendly end product.
Performance meets sustainability
Our recycled line is engineered to deliver exceptional performance. Its natural breathability surpasses that of many synthetic fabrics, providing all-weather comfort.
The fabric's hydrostatic head ranges from 300mm to 500mm, depending on the weight variant, offering reliable water resistance suitable for various outdoor applications. Available in weights from 230g/m² to 430g/m², designers can select the appropriate density to meet specific performance requirements.
With the demand for high-performance sustainable solutions growing faster, at Ventile we are pioneers in blending tradition with innovation to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
