In line with its commitment to excellence, James Purdey & Sons has launched new garments for its SS19 range in collaboration with Ventile – the world’s most effective, natural, all-weather cotton textile.

Much like James Purdey & Sons, Ventile has notable historical roots, with its fabric having originally been designed to save the lives of Air Force personnel flying over the Atlantic during World War II. Today, Ventile is still used by fighter pilots the world over.

The Ventile garments in James Purdey & Sons’ new SS19 collection are specifically designed with the outdoor sports enthusiast in mind. Various innovative products have been borne out of the collaboration and these products range from items such as; the Percival Safari Vest, the Safari Shirt and the Percival Safari Jacket. As Ventile is a 100% natural cotton fabric, it is soft and rustle free – making it the perfect and quiet choice for those looking for comfortable outerwear whilst simultaneously desiring to blend in with the natural environment.

Having been optimally designed for warm weather field sports, ranging from clay shooting to trips abroad, the Percival Safari Shirt is an essential garment for the outdoor sports devotee. The shirt includes longer side seams and front length so that it remains tucked in whilst you shoot, as well as the addition of pleats on the back allowing more room for movement. Additionally, the Ventile fabric is cool, breathable and weather resistant, so you will remain comfortable whatever the weather.

The Percival Safari Vest is also a perfect garment for those keen on partaking in summer sporting activities due to its comfortable design. With large front pockets offering plenty of storage space, a neat collar and the front closure being finished with horn buttons, the vest is both fashionable and practical to wear during sporting events. Ventile is renowned for using 100% extra-long staple cotton in the making of its fabric, meaning it is tough and durable, ensuring the garment can endure years of wear and tear.

The final garment from the Ventile and James Purdey & Sons collaboration is the Percival Safari Jacket. The design of the jacket represents a modern take on the classic safari coat and features large front pockets, internal pockets and a phone pocket. The jacket’s concealed drawstring waist allows the wearer to adjust the fit and back vents on the jacket to it provides ventilation in hot weather. The carefully curated design makes it a practical jacket for summer shooting and is available in either bronze or olive green.

With Ventile’s fabric starting its journey with raw cotton fibres sourced from just 2% of the world’s extra-long staple (ELS) cotton crop, customers can be assured that they are receiving a high-end product that is intended to last.
